What To Expect With Far Cry 5

With Far Cry 5 only about a month away from launch, there is alot of information out there concerning what you can do in the game. Here is our list of the top 5 things that we think are the best items in the game.

#5: The Map Editor

There have been previous Far Cry games that have had a map editor but it’s still worth mentioning. If anyone is familiar with it you know what you can create. For those who aren’t, the map editor allows a player to create their very own multi-player map that they can upload onto a server for other players to download and rate the map. It is also worth noting that when it comes to the map editor, nothing is off limits, that means if you see it in the gameĀ  during your campaign, you can use it in the map editor.

#4: Customization

Introduced in Far Cry 4, the customization feature has allowed players to equip attachments to their arsenal for a play style all their own. however, it appears that Far Cry 5 will have more attachments than in the previous iteration that will allow you to customize your style even further. Another item in the customization system that will tickle your fancy will be the new character customization. Even though you cannot see your character (as this is a 1st person game) you will still get the feeling that this is your game.

#3: Co-op

Another item introduced in a past Far Cry game (Far Cry 4 to be exact) is a co-op element. However, in Far Cry 4 the co-op element would only allow you and a friend to wander the world and clear the outposts. In Far Cry 5, you and a friend will be able to play the entire campaign together. Another interesting aspect to the co-op is that if you drop into another player’s game and they haven’t advanced as far as you, you keep all your weapons, equipment and cash so you don’t need to worry about it. If you don’t have a friend to play with and you need help; there is the Guns For Hire feature that you can recruit NPCs to help you out.

#2: No More Towers

As in every iteration of Far Cry, players use to have to climb some sort of tower in order to unlock the Fog of War that surrounded an area. However this is pared with the removal of the mini map which was done to increase the sense of being in the real world and to bolster the feeling of exploration. Only time will tell if players will find this to be a better or worse experience.

#1: Play Anyway You Want

Far Cry has always had some sort of linear story driving the players with some elements of wandering of the path for side quests, hunts, towers, etc. but this time around, the team has decided to let the players play the way they want. From going in guns blazing, to tactical stealth; each player(s) will be allowed to go anywhere on the map and do any missions they want. Getting heat from one of the siblings? Leave and go complete some other missions and let the heat (sort of) die down.

Far Cry 5 is slated to be released on March 27. Stay tuned for more information.
