Yandere Simulator Review

Yandere Simulator is everything you would expect from a 2015 Japan generated video game. Oddly enough I do not think this is being created in Japan, nor is it someone of Asian decent.

The game has an anime core, art, style and game play. The game claims to be less than 10% done but there is still a ton you can do.

GRAPHICS

When you think of every game ever made, the true graphic rating should be around 4 or 5. I am taking into account the genre of the game and the level of completion.

There are a lot of glitches still with the graphics, walls disappearing, the camera angles acting funktafied. Most likely due to where the game is in completion. If I can extrapolate the finished product for this game, I can’t see it not having some issues with interactivity and glitches. The core of the game which is the school and the grounds is pretty solid and complete. Any of the new areas introduced tends to be very glitch and incomplete.

Because it is still in development, there is very little variety and some in progress stuff. In the games blog online he mentions that the variety of different things will be staggering from the weapons you can have, to the panties you can wear.

STORYLINE

This is where the “uniquely Japan” phrase comes in. The opening scene of the game is pretty intense and creepy. A girls voice talks about she has gone through life not feeling anything; until she meets her senpai. She then finds out another girl is after her senpai, and she is going to hurt her, even kill her.
You have a friend on the outside who texts you. Performing certain tasks gets you favors. One of the big ones is taking panty shots. Texting them to this person will gain favors and that could be useful during your quest to get your senpai and to remove any rival girl.

Though the game hasn’t finished yet, there have already been many options to complete the task introduced into the game. You can’t officially “win” the game yet, but you can get real close.

GAMEPLAY

Currently the gameplay is a tad clunky and I know I mention it a lot but it’s not finished yet, and hopefully they will tighten it up. Some of the graphic issues interfere with the gameplay.

The interaction interface looks to be pretty interesting. Looks like it can be expanded, but you change the way an individual NPC thinks of you and it also compiles on an over-all scale as well. Being “lewd” having blood on your clothes and carrying a weapon in public also changes peoples opinion of you.
The body hide and cleanup is different and oddly enough fun. In most games you kill someone or something and move on. Yandere, you have to hide and clean up to be successful.

RATING 6 out of 10

Overall it is a promising game with a fairly unique and sick premise. It is worth a play for all you master PC racers, it is a free to download game right now.
