The 2nd Review

For Honor Starter Edition

Recently, Ubisoft has announced some changes to For Honor that could be taking it in a new direction of growth. They have announced a new version of the game at a reduced price of $15. Titled the Starter Edition, this version will be coming with all the maps and modes, but will only give you access to the starting heroes The Warden, The Raider and Kensai.

However, you will be able to unlock the other heroes available using the in-game currency Steel. Community Manager Eric Pope stated:

The Starter Edition is just one of the tactics we’ll be using this year to continue to grow the game, and out community. While our console players currently enjoy the benefits of a very vibrant and sizeable player base, our PC players have not had the same experience. A larger player population on PC will be better for the health of our PC community, helping to reduce matchmaking times and opponent variety, while also increasing the level of competition in game.

Although this is a good concept to show, it is noted that this is a stripped down version of the full game and it will cost you more Steel to unlock which means ether more time grinding or spend some of your hard earned $$$ on Steel packs. Deep into their 5th season, For Honor is continuing to make a comeback and if you haven’t tried this game, this would be a decent way to start but I would state for the record that it would be better to find the original game at a reduced price. If you are considering it, take a look at our For Honor review.
